Bobble Fists = Great Promotional Idea

One thing you can rely on when it comes to Minor League sports are great promotional ideas. I noted a few weeks back about the Wheeling Nailers Shred Rodriguez Night. Today, I came across a cool promotion for next month's game between the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins and Hamilton Bulldogs.

Dennis Bonvie Bobble Fist Night

Upon further search, some other teams have had this sort of promotion before and I think it's a great twist on the regular bobblehead idea. Might as well use bobble fists if you're going to have a promotional item based around fighters.

Bonvie has only played in 93 National Hockey League games between the Oilers, Blackhawks, Penguins, Bruins, Senators, and Avalanche. A lifer in the American Hockey League, he's found a home with the baby Penguins as their enforcer. Since the 2005-06 season, Bonvie has racked up 739 penalty minutes in 152 games. To check out some of his fights, you'd have to head on over to his Hockey Fights page to witness the toughness.

If the Flyers want to use this idea for a promotional night of their own, I'd recommend the "Steve Downie Bobblehead", which would probably look something like this after he decided to end his fight with Jarko Ruutu without help from the refs.

Ballhype: hype it up!
