December 31, 1988. Penguins v. Devils.
A feat likely never to be seen again.
Mario Lemieux torches New Jersey for five goals...in all five possible ways.
Even strength.
Shorthanded.
Power-play.
Penalty shot.
Empty net.
While many of Wayne Gretzky's records are talked about as being untouchable, Lemieux's memorable night probably can't be replicated, even in today's NHL.

Fantastic! Easily one of the greatest achievements in NHL history.
I know the team can (happily) rely less on promo giveaways when ticket demand is strong, but I wish they'd tied a DVD giveaway of a copy of this game to this anniversary, or put it on sale for cheap.
As great as the game is now, the NHL of the 80s and early 90s seems so far away.
