We all know about the Montreal Canadien fans and their internet voting scripts as well as Pittsburgh Penguin fans team-voting texts, but Bruin fans needed to go an extra step to support their goaltender by writing him in on their ballots. Majority of those 65,587 votes likely came from the greater-Boston area, but had Thomas been included on the ballot, more fans would have easily voted for him because of his hot start instead of being lazy and not writing him in.
If the NHL All-Star ballot is electronic-only, I don't see the reason why it can't be modified a day or two before it's officially released. Rick DiPietro, Sergei Gonchar, and Ryan Whitney are some of the names that could have easily been subbed out for guys like Thomas, Jeff Carter, or Filip Kuba.
